Asias overlooked places 9 for your travel list

Asias overlooked places: 9 for your travel list

When it comes to amazing tourist attractions, Asias got a ton. But for every Angkor Wat or Great Wall of China, hundreds of incredible sites have slipped under the radar for travelers.

Some are remote and obscure, others hidden in plain sight in some of Asias biggest cities. Here are nine unheralded spots worth visiting:

In the straits of Johor off the north eastern coastof Singapore, just a 10-minute bumboat ride from Changi Point Ferry, lies the island ofPulau Ubin.

Often name checked as the last kampung in Singapore (the Malay word for a traditional village) its a hit among Singaporeans seeking a slower pace of life and a break from the urban jungle.

The 10-square-kilometer island has a unique ecosystem, marine wildlife, threatened bird species and coral reefs at the Chek Jawa Wetlands.

Mountain bikes are the favored mode of transport and a great way to discover the trails and paths. Excellent homemade local cuisine is another big draw.

Its easy to forget Macau was once a destination where history, culture and tradition drew more international visitors than gambling and entertainment.

While the casino boom has changed the face of the former Portuguese enclave forever, efforts have been made to preserve aspects of the areas unique heritage.

Taipa Village is a former fishing village.

With its restored colonial facades and quaint alleyways, its home to museums, churches, temples and impressive villas.

On Rua do Cunha (Food Street) visitors can choose from dozens ofoptions.

Picturesque Halong Bay and Hoi An are two of the destinations that have boomed in recent years as visitors to Vietnam swell.

But Dalat in the countrys South Central Highlands is only recently starting to gain attention.

Known as the city of eternal spring, it was formerly a favorite destination of French colonial rulers keen to reach the cooler mountain climes, away from the humid coasts.

Outside the city, rolling pine-covered hills can make anyone forget theyre in Southeast Asia, while swish private golf clubs such asThe Dalat at 1200have taken advantage of the comfortable climate.

Thailands islands need no introduction to global hedonists looking for relaxation and perfect sunsets.

But few have kept themselves as quiet as Ko Adang in theTarutao National Marine Park.

Its 30 square kilometers, near the Malaysia border, have turquoise water and white sand, and with the bonus of much fewer visitors.

Accommodation is pretty basic and limited to beach-side bungalows and tents, but with rainforest and mountains to explore, as well as the Pirate Waterfalls, island living doesnt get much more laid back.

First-time visitors toHong Kongare always surprised to discover the citys multitude of outdoor options, from hundreds of miles of hiking trails to remote islands.

Sharp Island, otherwise known as Kiu Tsui Chau, is a short boat ride from the popular tourist destination and fishing port of Sai Kung.

During the week, few travelers make it over, meaning that visitors often get the islands three beaches to themselves.

Some of the cleanest and clearest water in all of Hong Kong makes it an ideal snorkeling destination, while the nearby island of Kiu Tau can also be reached at low tide across a natural spit of land.

A subtropical climate, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, hot springs, loggerhead turtles and dolphins are just some of the draws to thisislandsome 40 miles off the southwest tip ofJapanin Kagoshima Prefecture.

Rich flora include ancient Japanese cedar — some of which are over 1,000 years old — part of a primeval forest that has all but disappeared elsewhere across the region.

Accommodation runs from quaint cottages and pensions up to high-end spas, hotels, and ryokans — traditional Japanese inns with impeccable service.

NortheasternIndias remote state of Assam doesnt appear on many tourist itineraries, but the countrys largest river island,Majuli, is one of the draws for intrepid travelers who do visit.

Its the cultural capital of the Assamese and dotted with Hindu monasteries. Its 450 square kilometers of wilderness is also a draw — particularly for bird watchers.

The surrounding mighty Brahmaputra river erodes this island every year at an alarming rate, however, and some experts claim Majuli will disappear completely within two decades.

One of the most esoteric sites in Asia can be found in central Laos, where thousands ofhuge stone jars, some more than 2,000 years old, dot the landscape in more than 90 separate sites.

The most widely held belief regarding their origin is that they were used in prehistoric burial practices to cremate bodies.

Another more pragmatic suggestion is that they were used to collect and store monsoon rainwater for travelers and traders across caravan routes.

Meanwhile, more romantic local folklore suggest they held whiskey for a giant living in the Phonsavan Mountains.

Regardless, theyre an extraordinary addition to the landscape in a country often overlooked by travelers.

Koh Rong is Cambodias second largest island.

Given that the second-largest islandin Cambodiawas the setting for a recent season of Survivor, its no surprise that, with a lack of roads, cars and very limited electricity, accommodation offerings are basic.

WhatKoh Ronglacks in amenities it makes up for in natural beauty and tranquility.

Aside from the sedate pleasures of a hammock, sunset and a cold local beer, travelers head here for diving, snorkeling, jungle trekking and climbing.

CNC vs 3D Printing vs Laser-cutting

A funny thing happened after we bought the Shopbot, our CNC Routing Table (or as we call it, Frank). Whenever we told our other artist or designer friends about it, and what it does, invariably the topic of 3D printers and/or laser cutters would come up. And usually folks would wonder why we didnt buy one of those machines instead!

While it may seem to be the same, turning computer whatsits into real-life objects via some machine, in reality these three machines are vastly different in what they can do.

Probably one of the best in-depth discussions of the topic Ive read yet comes from this fellow, the owner of a desktop 4-axis mill:

For those out there that dont know much about these machines, you can sum it up pretty quickly:

CNC Mills / Routers:Computer-driven carving tools that take a given material and carve it into whatever you wanted. Its a subtractive process, or as we like to call it, a 3D remover.

3D Printers / Rapid prototypers:Computer-driven model builders that create solid things out of many micro-thin layers of glue, resin, or glued together powder that it builds up until youve gotten whatever it was you wanted. Its an additive process.

Laser Cutters / Waterjet Cutters:Computer driven cutting tools, that use a laser, or super-duper high pressure water and sand jets to simply cut a given material perfectly, cleanly, and all the way through.

If you want more detail, just check out the above link. But to get to the point, the main reason we choose a CNC Routing table (after lots of research) has everything to do with Materials, Object Size, and Repeatability. The CNC table makes real things, not just models, it can make those things out of whatever you feed it, without major size limitations, and it can make one or a million of those things.

As cool as the 3D printers are, they dont make real products you can in turn sell or put together to make a building / sculpture / whatever. The models they make are made up of resin (which is very expensive) or glued powder (which doesnt work for much other than models). While you can take a 3D printed object, and use it as a basis for a mold, we figured you can do the same thing with the CNC table if you wanted to. Make one thing and use it to make a mold to then make copies out of concrete, Fiberglas, or silicone. And while the 3D printers can make objects that are way, way more complex than our CNC table (no axis or bit size limitations), for what were doing (products, furniture, interiors, buildings) the objects tend to be larger and simpler anyways. So I guess Ill just have to get over the fact that we cant, say, make our own highly-detailed series of action figures of various semi-famous designers (Bruce Goff! With organic-painting Kung-Fu grip!). And heck, we can produce things such as these wings (and could get a lot more complex than that) so thats good enough for me:

And as neat as the laser cutters / water jets are, we wanted to be able to do sculptural things as well as flat things. Lasers can only cut, or burn a surface down to a certain level (and that takes a very expensive laser, unless youre just drawing on the surface of something). Waterjets only cut (but cut anything you can put under them perfectly cleanly. yikes!). Plus these, again, just like the 3D printers, are way more expensive than an accessible (read: lower end) CNC table like ours.

So thats why we dont have a 3D Printer or Laser Cutter. Yet.

Super Fast Carbon 3D Printer

Carbon(Carbon3D, Inc.), a 3D printing company just unveiled their new M1 3D printing machine that prints at incredible speeds by using a revolutionary new technique.

The M1 is a revolutionary new 3D printer directed towards prototype development and low-volume manufacturing. The developers at Carbon ensure that the M1 uses the best technology developed by the most prestigious engineers to create and provide a seamless printing machine that is not limited to the outrageous times that other printers are often hindered by. Traditional 3D printers take hours to develop one prototype using a laser to print layer by layer, followed by another process which refines the plastic into a cleaner, more accurate shape. Overall, it is okay for prototyping, but extremely impractical for manufacturing.

The Carbon M1 makes use of a completely new revolutionary technique that uses projections into a liquid to solidify a resin, which creates an object that appears to grow out of the liquid.

The M1 provides a seamless product that provides engineers a first-time opportunity to produce parts with high resolution and a clean surface finish, as well as all the mechanical properties imperative for prototyping and manufacturing high-quality products. Carbon has designed a new process that projects an image onto the bottom of the resin, causing a chemical reaction that solidifies the substance in the immediate area and allows the object to be printed from the bottom up, instead of in endless painstaking circles. Carbons process cuts down the time from hours to just15 minutes.

The3D printer uses breakthrough technology which makes use of their Continuous Liquid Interface Production (CLIP)  which uses their engineering-grade materials to create, design, and exceed the expectations of even the most prestigious printers- and it can do it in much less time.  So far, Carbon has receivedUS$141 millionin funding to create their 3D printer, which was unveiled at the same time as their CLIP technology atTED 2015.

Were excited to unveil our M1 machine and ground-breaking materials,

said Dr. Joseph DeSimone, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon.

This product lays the groundwork for addressing major gaps in additive manufacturing as we work with our customers to continually innovate and push the boundaries of product design and production.

The 3D printer rolled out to customers on April 1st for US$40,000 a month rental. Although the price is steep, Carbon provides repair services and lessons on how to use the revolutionary new machine. It functions on both built-in and cloud-based servers where its onboard GBU further enhances its performance with ease and practicality, as well as providing real-time feedback on exactly what it is doing.

Carbon hopes the M1 will provide a new industry standard in 3D printing and manufacturing, providing high-quality parts that can be made quickly and cost-effectively.

the future of3D printingcould see color-changing technology transform our wardrobes.at least with the work of MITs computer science and artificial intelligence lab who are introducing a new kind of 3D printable ink that makes it possible to recolor 3D objects after they have been printed. the process, known as colorfab, works by using base dyes and light-adaptable or photochromic dyes which appear only when exposed to UV light.

the method, developed by lead computer scientist stefanie mueller at MITsCSAIL, combines a 3D printing interface where users can create the object they want along with a layer of  the color-changing ink.by using the colorfab interface, individuals can then select areas of the object to revolor before activating them with UV light.

colorfab improves on previous formulas of photochromic inks which could only activate one color and only when exposed to UV light.muellers method involves painting a dense multi-color pattern onto objects and then selectively activating or deactivating certain colors with light. the ink can also hold its color after the light source is switched off.

the colorfab system is designed specifically to work with the precision of 3D printers, where photochromic inks have not been used before.as explained in this paper, once the method has been refined, the technology could be developed for use in the garment industry eventually helping to cut down on the waste we produce by creating various options in only one product.

3D Printing in 3 Steps (Yes Only 3!

Giving small businesses the power to grow

Staples ContributorAugust 19, 20163D Printing in 3 Steps (Yes, Only 3!)

Since it gives computer users the ability to produce tangible objects in a variety of materials and colors right from their desktop, 3D printing seems as if it would be technically complicated (or just magical). But in reality, its not all that different from printing in two dimensions on paper.

To produce a printed page, all computer users need is a document, a computer and access to a printer and, of course, ink and paper. Likewise, printing in 3Donly requires three similar things. Sure, the technologies differ, but thats the basic gist, as these three steps explain.

If you were to open a document file on your computer, hit some random keys on your keyboard and press Print, youd have a paper printout though it wouldnt make much sense. With 3D printing, you cant make a shape that easily, not even a poor one, so its worth beginning the process by putting some thought into your object.

Start by knowing what youd like to print in three dimensions. If you dont have an idea or concept, there are plenty of free suggestions online to get you started. Web sites offer a library of pre-designed objects that you can print with any 3D printer to gain experience. Or you can be inspired by people who are already using 3D printing technology.

Phoenix-based sculptorKevin Caronuses 3D printing to refine his artwork before making full-sized versions. Mostly what Im doing is proof of concept designs. You know, will it stand up, does it look right and are the proportions correct on it? he says.

And Chris Considine, CEO and founder of Los AngelesbasedCXC Simulations, uses 3D printing to prototype custom-designed parts for racing simulators that are so realistic, they are used by professional race car drivers. We need 3D orienting to see if the part feels exactly how we want it to feel, he says. We went through about 30 versions before we found the one that was perfect for us. Other than 3D printing, theres truly no way you could have done that without building it over and over again.

Once you know what you want to produce, its time to sit down at a computer and make it happen. 3D prints are most commonly generated from an STL or .stl file. Standing for stereolithography (what 3D printing was named when it was first invented), this file format is to 3D printing what the .doc file is to document output.

To open and manipulate an STL file, youll need computer-aided design (CAD) software. For decades, these programs have been used by everyone from architects to product designers, so there are many kinds ofCAD softwareavailable.

SketchUpis a free modeling program designed to be straightforward and allow anyone to create three-dimensional renderings, whether simple or complicated. Likewise,Tinkercadkeeps the design process easy by providing just three simple tools. It also runs in a Web browser and offers step-by-step design lessons to demonstrate how easy 3D printing can be.

Meanwhile, programs likeAutoCADare favored by many experienced professionals, having been used in the design and prototyping of millions of products throughout the years.

To run these programs, you dont need a particularly powerful computer. Caron uses anHP desktopmachine to create his digital sculptures. Its not a big screaming gaming computer by any means, he says. Its just a small office computer and it handles the CAD program just fine.

Most people assume they need to own a 3D printer to produce digitally rendered objects, but that isnt true. Sure, owning adesktop 3D printercan put your designs within arms reach. But driving across town to pick up your objects at aStaples 3D printing servicelocation or having them delivered by mail can be just as convenient for some businesses.

For example, Caron owns aCubeX™ commercial 3D printer. With the ability to print objects up to the size of a basketball, this device produces designs in plastic and in more than 4,000 different colors. Hes also used print-on-demand services to produce sculptures that he couldnt make on his offices machine.

Theyre breathtaking when you see them, he says of the two acrylic sculptures. The detail that I could view on the computer came out in the print it just blew me away. Caron is planning to scale his designs down and turn them into jewelry to sell. Ive gotten one back in a polished glass and its stunning. You cant tell it from gold other than by the weight.

If you are interested in using 3D printing but need help with these steps, visit one of our stores that offers 3D printing services (currently inLos AngelesandNew York City). There, we can help you with all the steps, from getting in touch with designers to actual 3D printing. You can even get in our 3D printing photo booth and have your face put on a figurine.

Some businesses would argue that 3D printing, whether its done in the office or at an outside service, is worth its weight in gold. This incredibly cheap house was 3D printed in just 24 hours

n on-site house 3D printed in Russia offers a glimpse into what the future of construction might look like.

Apis Cotr, 3D printing specialists based in Russia and San Francisco, say the walls of the building were printed and painted in just 24 hours.

3D printing a home usually involves creating the parts off-site and constructing the building later, however, Apis Cotr uses a mobile printer to print their apartments on-site.

Printing of self-bearing walls, partitions and building envelope were done in less than a day: pure machine time of printing amounted to 24 hours, the company said.

Once the house has been completed, the printer is removed with a crane-manipulator and presumably the roof is then added, followed by the interior fixtures and fittings.

Nikita Chen-yun-tai, the inventor of the mobile printer and founder of Apis Cor, explained his desire is to automate everything.

When I first thought about creating my machine the world has already knew about the construction 3D printing, he explained

But all printers created before shared one thing in common they were portal type. I am sure that such a design doesnt have a future due to its bulkiness. So I took care of this limitation and decided to upgrade a construction crane design.

He adds: We want to help people around the world to improve their living conditions. Thats why the construction process needs to become fast, efficient and high-quality as well. For this to happen we need to delegate all the hard work to smart machines.

The house can last up to 175 years and cost just $10,134 to build, the company added.

Meanwhile, thesegenius 3D printed earring bins will keep your pricy Apple AirPods safe.

12 amazing 3D printed objects

3D printer MakerBot Replicator 2 at the CeBit computer fair in Hanover. Photo: Reuters

3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is where a 3D object is printed from a digital model. The 3D printer extrudes materials out of a nozzle, building objects layer by layer according to the instructions from the digital file.

3D printing has been used to make manufacturing prototypes for decades, but the technology has only recently become available for consumers to use themselves. The technology still has itslimitationsbut its only a matter of time until this technology advances and dominates our manufacturing systems. 3D printing can also be a powerful tool for designers, who can create prototypes and mockups to pitch ideas to clients.

Weve rounded up 12 amazing 3D printed objects that show just how powerful this technology can be:

These printed snacks are made of ground-up meal worms, yum!

These Meal Cubes were printed on a 3D printer that combines powdered proteins, carbohydrates and sugars to create edible food products. The printer is being developed by Systems & Materials Research Corp to address world hunger and improve our unsustainable food systems by using this more efficient and economical way of producing food. Their argument is if food is made from nutritionally balanced powders, then we could get the same nutrients from a wider range of sources, such as ground-up insects, algae or grass. The printer can also be programmed to print personalized meals depending on the exact nutrients that a particular person needs.

The most important utilization of this technology.

Now this is something I would invest in. This 3D chocolate printer heats up the chocolate in the cartridge and squirts out layer after layer of chocolate after you upload your own design file to the machine! The Choc Creatoris the first commercial chocolate printer and was invented by a team of researchers at the University of Exeter. This miracle machine fromChoc Edgeretails for a mere $4,384.56!

3D printing is going to be huge in the medical field.

This custom prosthetic was printed from titanium powder with a lightweight porous structure, like real bones. The patient who needed it was able to talk normally with this new jaw minutes after waking up from surgery. 3D printing is going to be huge in the medical field, where individualized parts can be printed based on scans of patients bodies.

This plastic gun has been named the Liberator by its creator.

This is the worlds first working 3D printed gun. Its made almost entirely of plastic and has successfully fired a .380 caliber bullet. It was developed by Cody Wilson, a law school student who runs the organization Defence Distributed, that aims to make gun blueprints available online for anyone to download and print. The U.S. State Department has already forced Defense Distributed to take down the blueprints fromDefcad, however allegedly more than 100,000 of the plans were downloaded before the crackdown. The good news is real guns are still cheaper and easier to obtain than printed guns. However as the costs of 3D printing go down, the more worried we should be.

Now you can actually print the face only a mother could love and give her the perfect present!

Artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg took samples of peoples DNA from gum, hair and cigarette butts left in public places, and created 3D portraits based on their genetic makeup. The printed result isnt an exact copy of the real persons face, but its a pretty cool (and creepy) way of combining art and science.

Thisdrafty-looking dress is made ofa lightweight, flexible material.

Modeled by Burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, this nylon dress was printed byShapewaysand designed on an iPad byMichael Schmidt and Frances Bitoni. Its made up of thousands of components that were printed to fit her body exactly, and based on the Fibonacci sequences of numbers.

Try throwing this one on a pottery wheel!

This delicate vase is available for purchase on Shapeways and was designed by user virtox. Its produced with a fine ceramic powder, fused together with a binding agent, fired and finished with a glaze. Its food-safe and available in several finishes including Avocado Green Glossy and Eggshell Blue Glossy!

Cant wait to meet your child? Print them out in utero!

A Japanese service called Shape of an Angel will print a 3D model of your unborn fetus, using a technology called BioTexture, which processes image data from MRI and CT scans for 3D modeling. Expectant mothers have been shelling out the cash for this hot new product, which starts at $1,275 per figure, and goes up depending if you want to get the result made into keychains or cellphone dongles. This consumer product may seem a little strange, however its potentially a very powerful tool for vision-impaired parents, and for doctors to study potential malformations in developing fetuses.

This is a great first project for designers who are starting to learn CAD.

This custom iPhone case design was inspired by Indian patterns such as Mandalas. Its available for purchase and was designed by user Genghis. Its printed in a strong and flexible plastic and starts at $18.22.

Forget metal-smithing! Now designers can simply print their bling.

This intricate bracelet is also available for sale at Shapeways, and designed by user nervoussystem. It can be printed in plastic and stainless steel, and is a top seller on Shapeways.

Even Michelangelo couldnt carve this out of a block of marble.

This incredibly detailed sculpture by artistKevin Mackwould be difficult and time-consuming to produce without 3D printing. According to Mack, this sculpture represents a physical manifestation of the flow of consciousness in a transhuman entity.

For this 3D figurine, we chose to create Community Director Jason Aiken (in his fist tee).

This little guy look familiar? He bears a striking resemblance to our very own Community Director Jason Aiken, and hes even wearing the exclusive 99designs fist T-shirt! We used an online application calledMixeeMeto create this customized figurine. They partner with Shapeways, and their online customization app lets you pick and choose facial features, hair color and upload designs to print on their clothing.

These amazing printed objects are redefining the manufacturing process, but many are made on industrial-grade printers that are not as accessible and affordable for the average consumer. For designers, 3D printing is better used as a tool than an end product. Theyre great for making inexpensive prototypes of product designs to pitch to clients before they invest in expensive manufacturing processes and supplies.

From digital file to physical object. This model was created in the program MeshLab.

Clients are super responsive to seeing print designs like business cards photoshopped into mock-ups, the same thing is true for 3D printed prototypes. Some designers actually use 3D printed characters to pitch company mascot designs to clients by giving them a maquette they can hold in their hands.

If youve ever wanted to do product design but were limited by your lack of manufacturing knowledge, heres your chance to start making your ideas reality! The technology is only going to advance, so why not start learning the basics now? Heres a few resources to get started:

SketchUp is very user friendly and it can create 3D printer-ready .STL files.

Google SketchUp: This free CAD program is extremely basic, but it is very easy to learn for beginners. If youre serious about making professional, finished products with this technology, youll want to learn more advanced programs likeSolidWorksandRhino 3D, both of which are a little pricey but have a pretty sweet trial programs you can download from their websites.

Ideally, you should go to your local 3D printer shop to see your designs getting printed and learn firsthand how to design according to the specifications of the printer. But if thats not the case, youve got a co
uple of options: buy a consumer 3D printer or send your design files to a 3D printing company to print.

TheCube®s dimensions are 10 x 10 x 13 inches, and can fit comfortably on the average desk!

One of the most affordable and consumer-friendly 3D printers out there is theCube®made by Cubify®, starting at $1,299.

Join an online community of 3D printing enthusiasts at m.

Shapeways.comis a seriously cool, 3D printing marketplace where users can make, buy and sell their own 3D printed products. They also have a bunch of easy-to-use online customization apps for beginners to start playing with.Note to self: start designing my own smart phone case so I can print it out!

Additive manufacturing is more efficient and less wasteful than traditional subtractive manufacturing, and its only going to get cheaper. The ultimate goal of 3D printing would be to manufacture all consumer products in the location of their purchase, on demand and on the spot, which would eliminate shipping costs and wasting unsold products. In the future, the possibilities for 3D printing will be limitless.

3D Printing is Finally Changing the Manufacturing Landscape

The right software can change industries quickly.

For fast-moving companies like Airbnb, Stripe, Uber, Facebook, or Slack, the piping such as the internet and smartphones is already well-established, allowing these startups to scale at unprecedented speeds.

For 3D printing and other such hard technologies? Things end up being a lot more complicated.

The rise of 3D printing reached peak hype years ago and as far back as 2014, we were illustrating how 3D printing could ultimatelyshape the futureof business. However, since those days, the technology has arguably fallen into the dreaded trough of disillusionment category on the famous Gartner Hype Cycle.

The harsh reality is that its just really hard to move things like 3D printing forward at the same type of speed as software. For the technology to scale at a commercial level, products would need to be flawless and intuitive from the get-go (they werent), and all engineering, technological, and design problems would need to be solved at lightning-quick speeds. Instead, it takes huge amounts of research, investment, patience, and iterations to get to the next level.

Todays infographic comes to us fromRaconteur, and it highlights a most recent snapshot of the 3D printing industry. Importantly, it shows that the technology is still chugging along in a way that is changing how things are made just at a less hype-worthy pace.

3D printing has now permeated practically every industry in at least some capacity, being used in a wide range of sectors from consumer goods to pharmaceuticals.

According to areportby EY, the potential for additive manufacturing is highest in the automotive and aerospace industries. For example, its expected that about half (49%) of automotive companies will use 3D printing to directly manufacture car parts in order to achieve operational efficiencies. These companies believe that 3D printing will help them address challenges such as demand for increased customization, continued improvement, and lightweight components.

As a result of increased demand and more familiarity with the technology, Gartner said shipments of 3D printers increased 108% between 2015 and 2016, resulting in 456,000 units shipped globally. More importantly, by 2020 this number will be at 6.7 million units, which would represent phenomenal growth for the technology.

As of today, most companies are still using 3D printers for accelerating product development, such as prototyping (34% of applications) and for proof of concept (23%). However, as 3D printing gets more use in additional areas such as mass customization and collaboration on products its possible the ship will really begin to sail, even if it was slightly delayed in getting out of the gate.
